形態特徵

• Stemless annuals.
• Leaves radical, linear-lanceolate, ribbonlike, glabrous, 2-4.3 cm long, 1.5-3 mm wide, apex attenuate, 5-7-nerved. Peduncles numerous, glabrous, 7-14 cm long, 5-ribbed, twisted, sheath tubular, bladeless, glabrous, 1.2-3 cm long, apex oblique; heads ovoid, 3 mm long, 3 mm in diam.; involucral bracts obovate, 2 mm long, 1 mm wide, membranaceous, pale brown, glabrous, apex obtuse; receptacle pilose; floral bracts obovate, 2 mm long, 1 mm wide, membranaceous, pale brown, glabrous, apex deltoid.
• Staminate flowers: calyx spathe like, 1.5 mm long, hyaline, glabrous, open on one side, apex deeply bilobate, lobes more than half as long as calyx, acute; corolla tubular, trilobate, glabrous; anthers 5, black. Pistillate flowers: sepals 2(-3), free, filiform, 1 mm long, glabrous; petals none; ovary 3-locular, glabrous; stigmas 3, longer than style.
• Seeds ellipsoid, 0.3-0.4 mm long, yellow, with transverse reticulations, without appendages.
• This species differ from <i>Eriocaulon cinereum</i> in having flowers without clavate hairs, a deeply bilobate staminate calyx, and the anthers five.
